What happens to all equipment from demolished ships?

Hundreds οf ships аrе scrapped (mostly іn India) еνеrу year. Whаt happens tο аll thе equipment? Thеrе mυѕt bе thousands οf life jackets, οthеr safety equipment, bed linen etc etc οn board, аnd I’d lіkе tο know whеrе іt аll goes? Iѕ іt fοr sale everyplace?

It’s all sold, or scrapped and recycled. Iron is reused. Life jackets are either re-used or dismantled and sold for scrap. Bed linens are sold.

And so on and so forth.

NOTHING from an ancient ship, if it can be helped, is simply thrown away.

Depends on who is doing the scrapping. Some of the material may go to others ships that are owned by the the same people. “Contaminated” material may just end up getting tossed. Others parts may be auctioned off or sold as a lot or as individuals items in as “as-is” state.
