  • I cant believe this website:

Milwaukee has been making the best drills for years. Pricing will vary on model, but their drills hold up to the test of time. I have two that are over 25 years ancient that I bought used from a retired carpenter and they still run fine.

About the wife (not really my business) just nail her coffin shut.

  • David M:

Makita makes a fantastic quality tool although more expensive but they are a solid tool that hold up well.

As for the wife if you buy a Air nailer and compressor your laughing.

Excellent luck companion they are pretty excellent at getting out of just about anything.

I work in the trade selling this gear and the make all the trades people go for is DE WALT Makita is a top brand for the diy enthusiast. It will cost you though. Register at DIY.COM and get 15% off until monday

  • nonyahbusiness:

Basically any of the mainstream brands for high quality and high price. Craftsman for clad price and quality.

As for the wife just buy one of those huge pet transport cages used on craigslist or everyplace.

  • Drewfuss:

Milwaukee and makita I would say lead the pack. then Dewalt and bosch.Ryobi, black & decker, etc, are strictly home owner grade stuff.

  • Johnny:

    DeWalt are the best,imo.

  • Jan:

Dewalt’s pretty much the best.As for the cage, you’d best just buy a ticket out of town. You’ll need it when she sees this!

  • dano-the-mano:

    milwake and dewalt are best.

  • Terry Socia:

D-i-v-o-r-c-e would have to be my thought’s as the best tool in this case…hahaha, probably cheaper too…

You get what you pay for.

Skil, Craftsman, and Black & Decker are low end and will not stand up to hard use.

Fein, DeWalt, Port-a-Cable, and Makita are often used by the pros and serious DIYers and cost more but last longer and can stand up to daily use.

I’ve had a Craftsman, it died early. I have a Skil and seldom use it (bought it after the Craftsman died just to have a corded drill around). I have a Makita cordless 18v and use it often.

  • nedree@verizon.net:

i recommend that you dont do that.it sounds like you are the one out of control.be wise.

  • Dunbar Pappy:

    $40-$80?
Sincerely, that won’t buy quality. $140+ will.
    Milwaukee in my book.
    Makita #2
Don’t waste money on Black & decker or skil; total garbage.

Side bar: stilted cages won’t do the job. Tried it once.
Welded steel holds up quite nicely, provide the frequency and intensity of the maintenance beatings are augmented (until morale improves).
    Just kidding of course.

I like my Ridgid drill they have always made excellent construction tools. I have been using Ridgid tools for 16 years.
Cheap reliable would be Ryobi I have used them for 8+ years, on projects where I did not want to ruin a excellent expensive tool. For example in mud trenches, underneath buildings, sewer repair, etc. And suprisingly Ryobi held up covered in mud and all. I replaced the batteries and still have the tools themselves.
