I made a walking stick a few days ago. when i score i just freehand with a knife or exacto knife.
Respond to this record… Looks like it is wasting a lot of time .because it’s leaving so much wood after each stroke. The black lines he first drew are burnt into the wood because of the speed. YEA go blow a few hundred on that tool YA tool.
It ain’t carving just like that sears flat panel carvering 1200 dollar thing ain’t hand carving But the counterfitters will always be out there because They can’t do the work.
@kilmeisterx I have and use small grinding tools But car4ving is then called POWER CARVING. and it’s fantastic when the wood is too hard But the dust will kill you real quick. When i’m power carving I have a shop vack sucking the dust right off the tip of my tool. This thing is like a dntist drill and it ain’t carving it’s drawing into wood.
@brokenbrush I was thinking the same thing.. I guess thats for those who can afford newfangled tools. I like the ancient scool carving tools.
I can score this small with bits in a Dremel tool. or even better Black and Decker puts their tool on sale for about $49.oo US. now and then.
Yes not as silent But also not so expensive. For the BITS you can buy the bits for any thing. But WHat happened to carving with carving tools. This may as well be LAZER etched for all it does. It don’t make me reflect of CARVED WOOD

Buy some DREMEL with high precission diamond bits or German Proxxon which, in my opinion, is way better. Best regards, Greg

@satansbrand Hi – That’s exactly what I’ve been using for years and it’s fantastic. I also have a Foredom SR reversible carving kit but never really use it!! I score wood spirits etc. You need plenty of excellent carbide bits and a wire brush though! I have about 60 bits. I’d like a turbo carver but the price is silly and it won’t work here whereas the Foredom is a very rare one made for our electric!!

@SimonMiriamfan Buy a Dremel 300, about £50 with attachment, superfluous attachments £18 for 100, im before a live audience around with one at the moment, quite simple to us. Excellent luck
Nice record but it fails to clarify the excessively high price of this equipment, particularly including the air compressor. I would LOVE to start using this kit – but I live in England and need equipment that will work here (wiring for the compressor etc). The cost really is prohibitive for mere peasants like me though, I don’t have a grand to do it right. Do these come up 2nd hand at all?
Where do you get the pictures and what type of paper are they on?

Thanks for super record. just started looking at you tube and just recently signed up.
I make sticks, mostly from hazel and occasionally with deer antler horn for handle, here in Scotland but have never seen this type of work previous to joining u tube. I would really appreciate finding out more.
