DEF stands for Diesel Exhaust Fluid. It is an organic, nontoxic compound composed of 32.5% urea and 67.5% DI water. Using a Selective Catalytic Converter (SCR) System, it converts smog producing nitrogen oxide into harmless nitrogen and water vapour. The vehicles will have an on-board DEF storage tank of 16-30 gallons. An important requirement of SCR System is the consistent refilling of these storage tanks.

DEF quality is very essential. Its quality depends upon the dispensing equipment used. There are varieties of DEF Dispensing equipment in the market. While selecting the dispensing equipment, its price, durability, market stand and functionality are very important factors to be considered.

It is also very important to consider the system that is to be used in replenishing DEF supply. There are two systems that can be used – Closed System and Open System

Closed System

Closed system containers have camlock couplings of valve that seals the opening on drums and totes. This prevents contamination of the DEF during transport, dispensing and disposal phases of the container life cycle. A typical closed system will have a dip-tube with the container. A coupler or “dispense head” is then connected on-site to the dip-tube for dispensing purposes. The trend has shifted to using closed dispensing system. It minimizes the potential of hazardous chemicals and vapour exposure. The other way to remove chemicals from a rigid container is from the top while the container is vertical, using a closed dispensing system.

Open System

An open system is one in which the DEF containers are not sealed. The DEF container is exposed to external contaminants during one or more usage phases, that is, filling, transport, dispensing or disposal. It involves installing a drum pump with a stick type dip-tube at the end use site. Basically there is a hole in the drum bung. The advantage of this system is that it is reusable and does not add cost to the container package. But it uses an unfiltered venting path which is open to atmosphere while dispensing, thus, exposing it to contamination of the DEF. Also, while changing the container, the dip-tube must be removed which is very messy and troublesome job.

The best system for DEF Dispensing equipment is the closed system. It will ensure the DEF quality as the containers are sealed and are not exposed to atmosphere. Nowadays, closed systems are being used. Using a closed system will also ensure smooth running of the vehicle without any problem.

Many models of carpet cleaning machines on the market tend to use large amounts of water, leading to extended carpet drying times. To improve water efficiency, low flow machines were designed and are available from the industry’s top suppliers. These machines use less water during the cleaning process to ensure quicker drying times of carpets without limiting cleaning power.

Advantages of Low Flow Machines

Low flow machines are designed keeping the commercial user in mind, although many of these carpet cleaning machines are popular with home users too. Professional carpet cleaners depend on low flow machines to provide powerful cleaning even with reduced water consumption. Some of the benefits of using these carpet cleaning machines are:

Lower water bills: Water bills worry us less than fuel and electricity bills, but they tend to add up and increase overhead costs. Low flow carpet cleaning machines are the perfect way to reduce costs associated with excess water consumption.

Client satisfaction: Operators using professional carpet cleaners on client sites often face restrictions on water use. Many clients object to soaking wet carpets, since the carpet must be ready for use quickly to return to business. A low flow model takes care of these issues.

Less water disposal costs: In keeping with EPA guidelines, carpet cleaning services use water traps and other devices to reclaim dirty water. If you use low flow carpet cleaning machines, you can reduce these costs substantially.

Faster drying: Heavy carpets take long to dry, which is a worry for commercial establishments. When carpets remain moist for too long, they tend to develop molds, which impact hygiene and lead to bad odor. In addition, long drying times require that the carpet remains off limits for up to 24 hours. This is simply not feasible in commercial environments. Modern low flow machines allow carpets to dry in less than six hours. Machines that are heated will allow carpets to dry in as little as two hours.

Other Features

In addition to low flow technology, good quality commercial carpet cleaning machines also offer convenient features that boost productivity. Large solution and recovery tanks allow for nonstop work. Top industrial carpet cleaners are equipped for automatic refilling and disposal, letting the user operate the machines for hours without a break.

Commercial carpet cleaners should not require more than five to fifteen minutes to heat water. If you have bought a non-heated machine, it should be able to accept hot water in the solution tank for occasional hot-water wash.

An ergonomic design is crucial for increasing productivity. Wands should be easy to grip and not too heavy. The cleaning end should be wide to cover more area. (For small areas such as car interiors, use carpet shampooers designed for auto detailing, which have narrower wand heads). Avoid using the carpet wand for cleaning stair carpets, curtains, and furniture covers. Instead, use specially designed stair and upholstery wands.

Carpet cleaning systems and carpet shampooers should ideally have high temperature, powerful vacuum, and moderate pressure levels to enable them to clean carpets in commercial and industrial environments without using hundreds of gallons of water. Even cold water machines are powerful enough if the carpets are not stained with grease, food, paint, or ink. To find the best array of heated and non-heated carpet cleaning systems, consult a reputable online supplier.

The use of any heavy equipment entails some health risks. Prevention is always better that ending up in the emergency room of a hospital because some kind of flying particle somehow ended up in your eyes. And, let me tell you, prevention is not just a matter of following instructions from time to time but a habit we should practice all the time and also teach the younger. Once you get used to doing things in a certain way every time, it no longer seems hard and it becomes the only way to go.

Storing your things in dry and clean places will not only ensure they last the longest; it will also be the best way to make sure they are working properly every time you need to use them. Lawn mowers are not an exception, and even if you have them properly stored, you should always check that the engine is working as it should. A lot of accidents begin with machines malfunctioning. If your lawn mower is not properly working, avoid use, and contact a professional. Do not try to fix it if you are not 100% sure of what you are doing.

When you are shopping for lawn mowers, you should also be prepared to buy the proper protective equipment. Never use any kind of machinery without safety gear. Read carefully the owner’s manual, which provides information on all the security equipment you are going to need. Protective glasses, gloves, helmet and proper shoes are some of the things that you will need for sure. And when it comes to your security, don’t hesitate in investing a little more to get the highest quality products there are.

A really important thing you should always consider is how much in control you feel while using a power tool. Remaining in control is the first thing that will ensure safety, so if you feel it is too big or too heavy, it might not be what you really need.

When it comes to dog training, agility is one of the main aspects that are greatly considered. Agility is a dog sport in which a handler and her dog run as a team through an obstacle course in a race for both time and accuracy. The goal in any dog agility competition is to execute each piece of equipment correctly without any disqualifications. There are several national and international agility organizations with each having its own regulations and standards for its agility equipment.

Basically, an agility course is rather like an obstacle course with standard elements that each dog must pass through in order to complete the run and receive a qualifying score. If a single element is missed, the team is disqualified. This course consists of jumps, hoops and obstacles that you can set up for yourself. You can visit your local pet shop for this equipment. The basic elements of dog agility equipment are:

The Weave Poles are a series of thin poles attached to a straight plank base.

The A Frame is a ramp with a strong incline and equal decline. A-frame is painted a bright color, usually yellow, forming the contact zone, onto which the dog must place at least one paw while ascending and descending.

The Dog Walk is another type of ramp. The two end planks form ramps leading up to and down from the center plank.

The Teeter is a long plank on a fulcrum that each dog must mount at one end and walk across to the other end.

The Tunnel is a long tube each dog must run through. The tunnel is constructed of flexible vinyl and wire, such that it can be configured in a straight line, or in a variety of curves.

The Chute is similar to the tube at the entry point, but the rest of the chute is simply nylon without the hoops to support it, so dog are basically running blind through this element.

Jumps are the same as you would find at an obedience trial, and the pole height is set according to the size of the dog.

The Tire is suspended on a frame and each dog must jump through it on its way around the course.
