Alright, so basically for tonight’s homework, we received 7 word problems. I am HORRIBLE at these types of problems. So I just want some help on two problems and hopefully I can figure out the rest. This one is a polynomial question.
1.) You are making a scrapbook out of pictures that are 7 inches long and 5 inches wide. You want to place a border of equal width on each edge.
a.) Write a polynomial that represents the total area of the picture with the border.
b.) Find the total area of the picture with border when the width of the border is 2 inches.

So far I have (5x+X^2)(7+x^2) but my friend says it’s wrong, but he has no idea how to do it.

2.) During the period 1997-2002, the sporting goods sales S (in millions of dollars) and the percent P (in decimal form) of sporting goods sales that are for exercise equipment that can be modeled by
S = 1990.5t + 67,530
P=0.0022t + 0.0436
Where t is the number of years since 1997.
A.) Write an equation that models the sales (in millions of dollars) of exercise equipment as a function of the number of years since 1997.
B.) Find the amoung of exercise equimpent sales in 2001. (I’m pretty sure I can get this one if I just knew the equation…)

What is it like for adults? Does the adult program use the same equipment as the kids? I think of myself as a pretty serious person and I was considering space camp to get a detailed experience.

with the kiddie theme seriously turns me off. I see they have a bunch of “rides” like the M.I.T. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jpTtojMjbaI) which are interesting, but then clips like this:

makes it look boring..

I am looking for a more mature atmosphere and experience. Like do they simulate the[b] daily[/b] tasks of the shuttle crew? I see there is some sort of computer simulation and charting in the video but do they require real teamwork or is it just goofing off and/or mashing random buttons?

Do you guys think space camp will be right for me if I am expecting a more serious tone than in that video? I understand it has to appeal to everyone like the casual Jonas Brothers fans however I have not seen anything on the adult program. Maybe I am just better off volunteering or getting a internship at a actual NASA location? I was going to do that anyway but hoping space camp would be interesting also. I just don’t want it to be too basic or be stuck with adults goofing off all the time.

company could slap a crappy gear box on an otherwise fantastic bike? don’t these people test drive their equipment? however, i’m wondering if you have to be a pretty sophisticated rider to even notice, i’m guessing that the bike is very drive-able, if the gear box is flawed would you guys scratch this bike off your shopping list, long story, sorry..but thanks for any help

Don’t bother with ITP VoIP, its one step away from FRAUD. They have not listed a physical address and their business hours are unknown as of March 25th 2009. Although ITP VoIP states the order will take 1-3 days to process and no longer than 7 days to receive your equipment, your order will not get processed until a telephone number is assigned for you. If you cancel your order because you cannot wait any longer for ITP VoIP to assign you a telephone number, then be ready to have severe headaches. Even though you haven’t received any equipment, service, and your account has NOT been activated they will SCAM you $29.95 activation fee.

No one goes out of their way to write a bad review, however do NOT believe those good reviews on other websites because most likely ITP VoIP employees wrote them. The only reason I ordered their Plan is because of those good reviews that I read on those website and now I am going out of my way to enlighten the public about ITP VoIP.
