Anу οthеr Thουghtѕ οn hοw tο accomplish thіѕ? Or dοеѕ anyone know a рlасе tο bυу cheap EU power tools іn thе US?
I аm a bit worried аbουt using thе converter аѕ I hаνе read sometimes thеу overheat ѕο аnу info wουld bе fаntаѕtіс. Thanks
Dont get cheap. Get a excellent converter
Converters can overheat, why not rent power tools once in europe? it would be simpler I reflect.
sounds excellent
Yes there is. It´s called a converter. You can get them in the air port. just make sher it the right one for the part of Europe your going to.
Converters overheat when you use more power than they’re rated for. Check your tool and look for the right converter, go a modest higher if doable.
You don’t say which countries you are going to work in. So this comeback is valid for UK only.
1. Don’t bring your power tools as such, but bring specialist drills or blades that you might need.
2.Europe has a number of different plug and socket formats, so hire tools and step down transformers here.
3. If working on a building site or anywhere else for pay then these are mandatory to ‘code’ and the vehicle sockets are matched to the 110volt rated tools that you use in the construction diligence here.
4.Beware that there are yellow and blue round sockets on these transformers – one indicates a step down in voltage, the other indicates no step down but a safety isolation.
5. Hire centres in the UK can be found via the business telephone directory on www.bt.com.
6. Common building firm names are Jewsons, HSS Toolhire, Screwfix Direct, CBS – County Building Equipment, to name but a few.
7. If you are going to be here for a while then yes, maybe it will pay to bring your kit over, but make sure its worth while and well ensured. Remember if it goes ill-treat, there will be an argument, was it their drill or our transformer that caused the problem.
Europe uses 220-240 you can buy a 120 to 240 transformer but check on the socket configuration for where you are going
