  • Mr. Dave:

Coincidentally a young fellow I work with is looking at the 750 Quake. Remember the reviews you read are written by professional riders. They push every bike to its limits. They can be unduly harsh, and often their reviews aren’t overly relevant for the mean rider.
ie I was looking at buying a gently used 2006 GSF650 Bandit last spring. Previous to slapping my money down, I did some investigate on-line. The professional reviews were mediocre at best. But the owner reviews I read were overwhelmingly positive. I bought the bike based on reviews by ‘real people’, who own the bike, versus pro riders who test them at their limits.
Aprilia has a excellent rep, but every company can make the rare blunder. Check this link. MCN gives both professional and owner reviews of many machines, the Quake included.
